However I suspect the Group4 vans probably have a fleet policy in regards to what is allowed on them in the way of stickers etc, and the police are probably aware of it enough for any changes to arouse more suspicion.

It's an agreement between the police and the cash carriers that if the police car isn't on a call that it should follow the vans.

Yep this is true, if a cash carrier is driving along and a police patrol is not otherwise commited they will follow the vehicle this includes in unmarked vehicles, to their destination. It also depends on the area in which the cash carrier is picking up/driving through, if it is a 'high risk' area then a police car should be following.Married 1st October 2015:heartpuls

It's the standard sticker warning wannabee thieves that there may be a rozzer tailing the vehicle. A bit like those stickers which proclaim "Tools are not left in this vehicle overnight." Which means: "We want you to believe that no tools are left in this vehicle overnight, but do you really expect my lazy employee to empty it every night."The man without a signature.0

What is the point of a police car following the van? If i were a bad boy and i wanted to rob a security wagon,id have a shooter with me. What chance would the coppers have unless they had similar?0

I used to work for a company that supplied these and they are followed by police - they have SIM card in the vehicle and that sends signal to nearest police vehicle in case someone either opens the door without authorisation, or in impact or basically anything out of the normal...
They also transfer a picture, so the moment the signal is sent a security guard at the central monitoring station can see into the vehicle...
Very clever things these...0 -

Why don't you do as you say....and see what happens and we can all tell the police that it was Premeditated and point them to this thread.goldspanners wrote: »for a long time ive noticed security vans owner by companies like group 4 who and collect cash to and from banks, they have stickers on the back saying "police, follow this vehicle".
ive noticed police pass these vehicles and not bother to follow them,so should they follow them? why should they follow them? are they obliged to make sure they meet thier next stop ok and then leave after that?
or is it simply a deterant to potential thieves?
i need to know as im planning to hold one up
