Messing with Miss Marple
Comments
-
Sorry to go against public opinion, but as someone who did a thesis on Agatha Christie & her works (Yes, really!) can I point out that Joan Hicksons portrayal of Miss Marple, although very enjoyable viewing, was not very true to Agatha Christies writing of her. Miss Marpel was in fact very gossipy, catty, nosey & hard nosed, although usually dressed in layers of lace!
Saying that, can't say I found last nights episode with "flash backs" at all authentic!
But my biggest gripe..........they keep calling it "Agatha Christies Marpel"! She was MISS Marple, for crying out loud, never once in all the books is she referred to as "Marple" (Unlike Poriot, who was frequent referred to as just "Poriot").
Sorry, rant over.

Didn't watch it this week, I was watching Test the Nation :-[
Everytime I watch it I am baffled to how people must go through life with their eyes and ears shut! Or am I just a nosy want-to-know-it-all? :P
CNo reliance should be placed on the above.0 -
