Messing with Miss Marple

Why is it that whenever something's billed as an "all star cast" it's a load of cr*p?
I tuned in to the new Miss Marple on ITV as it had a lot of my fave actors in it, plus love Agatha Christie.
What a complete load of twaddle. Wooden acting, a stupid storyline that flitted about all over the place. And as for Miss Marple, she's supposed to be a sweet little old lady not a nosy old bag!!!

will read tv guide for all xmas tonight, and let you know if there are any on.0 -
They had to mess about with it - JOAN HICKSON IS DEAD and I don't think RADA allow you to still hold a card from beyond the grave:-/
I enjoyed it, easy on the brain Sunday night viewing. Miss Marple is a bit sharper that Hickson's portrail (I liked Joan Hickson, by the way), but those of us old enough to remember Margaret Rutherfords 'battleaxe Miss Marple' before that will recognise the similarity. Stick with it - I didn't like Midsommer Mouiders when they took Troy out, but you get used to most things in the end.Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
It could not have been any worse than the program about cracking open an egyptian tomb live on air. I almost feel like sueing the TV channel for wasting 1.5 hours of my life. The presenter (can't remember her name) was about as enthusiastic as a turkey at Christmas. The egyptologist fellow was trying to get her to show some enthusiasm by saying 'you dig a bit' or 'you can go first' but she just point blank refused to. I have seen paint drying in a more interesting manner.
IvanI don't care about your first world problems; I have enough of my own!0 -
It seems to be a new series (Marple that is!) wont bother with next week's "offering".
I think Margaret Rutherford and Joan Hickson were both much better Miss Marples...0 -
I'm with MATH, it was easy on the eye Sunday night viewing. Although I can't say I remember the original ones, probably have seen them though just need a memory re-jog.
For me it was a toss up between Miss Marple and the film Bring It On....ummmm I wonder why I opted for ITV!!!!
CNo reliance should be placed on the above.0 -
