Broken samsung E250 charger

Hi,

I got a samsung E250 about 8 months ago and had it charging overnight. went to disconnect the charger cable today and it came apart - a bit of it was stuck in the phone and the cable itself has to bronze wires sticking out.

Thinking of going to the orange shop where i got it to try get a replacement charger but I have a few questions:

Are these chargers easy to get 2nd hand (I'd rather pay a fiver for one in a local shop than have to trek into town)
If I go to the shop I imagine they'll try palm me off to samsung, is it the sale of goods act i need to mention here to avoid that?

I think you can get replacements for about £5,but as its only 8 months old I would try and get a free replacement.
