Very true. It still seems very strange though that a lot of us have gone to enter codes only to get a message saying the code has already been used.

but how many is a lot in terms of 500000 codes...by the way my local tescos have moved the magnums from the prime location (now that the offer is over) and put them in the normal upright freezers....but the swines have put all the "competition" boxes to the back...I had to dig 12 deep to get my last box...

magnum wins so far...£100...now to figure out how I spend it:confused:
    I'm now a retired teacher... hooray ...:j

Those who can do, those who can't, come to me for lessons:cool:

I can't remember exactly, Orange. It was a passing comment a few weeks ago when I had troubles with magnum sticks. If I remember correctly, it was along the lines of them all following a certain pattern, (e.g we all know they start with RS, or HF, HD ....) whether it be magnum sticks, coke cans, galaxy book codes, none are randomly generated. I guess the program would be based on deciphering exactly what those patterns were and then a second program to throw out the exact codes ( that is purely my guess).

I am the least technical person around, purely because Oh does it all, so apologies if my answers are vague - plus I don't want to get people even more agitated by this comp than they already are. The percentage of people complaining of already registered codes makes me think this is not the main problem with the competition - more the customer services mismanagement and poor technical management from Magnum itself.

Edited to add : I'm not sure a lay person could write the program, Orange. My husbands idea of "free time" is writing personal trading programs and does similar for a job - although the standing joke is that Magnum sticks have proved more profitable in our house than any trading program he has written lately.

I wouldn't want to try! The idea of writing programs doesn't appeal. I have a very high IQ but no programming experience at all. I was just interested in the mathematics behind it.

I'm not surprised Magnums have done better than trading though; Magnums are pretty much a dead cert. (although one or two people seem to have done badly). Ha ha ha! (I mean ha ha ha about the Magnums doing better, not about the people who have done badly!)

I get so sick of the emails saying he has passed it on, I got an email back from Magnum dealing with a problem I had 4 weeks ago, by the time I got an answer it was pretty useless. I will be glad when the comp is over as it does seem to have made some people resentful and jealous (some openly). which is a real shame. :(

It would be nice to get some type of community spirit back on this thread.

    good luck all ;)

To me this is a poor promotion on Magnums part. Its not good for them and it certainly isnt for us their consumers who have brought lots and lots of boxes,I just hope that Magnum learn from this in the future and put implements in place to stop this happening on future promotions to sell their brand. They should have road tested the promotion out first before telling us their consumers about it.

It's okay, I understand......nobody should blame thinkkarma for being envious of my automatic stirring spoon win.

Maybe I should remove it from my signature, to prevent any further outbursts - after all, not everyone can be lucky enough to enjoy smooth, lump free sauces with minimum effort

And I need to state, once and for all - yes, I am envious of people who have won large prizes on this comp and many others (and I defy anybody to say that they haven't felt that prickle of "oh, I really wanted such-and-such a prize"), I am also genuinely very pleased for them.

So far this year I have won a very large number of prizes that I am thrilled with - and which I am sure other people have been slightly envious of too. That is how human beings work - it is part of what makes us join competition forums like this!

However, I am not jealous - that is a very very different emotion, it is also quite destructive.

What I have declared on this thread is a dislike of people jeopardising anyone else's chances of a win by taking all the promotional boxes from a store. Also, the use of numerous email/phone numbers.

If you win fair and square, well done! I could not be happier for you - yes, I would like that money to pay my bills but so would we all and it doesn't mean I harbour any resentment towards anybody.

If that makes me a faeces agitator, then so be it. :D
