I called again and was told the same as before. TBH this comp sucks. I wish the cs team would get there stories straight. Am going to send my stick off anyway, you never know.
Not sure about not getting a conf email though, as normally this would indicate that all was well?Think it's about time the comping fairy remembered where I am! lol0 -
I'm not going to say how, but husband is an uber techie and gets paid for being an uber techie. He says he would be able to write a program that could automatically generate correct codes.
I can hand on heart assure you that we would never do it, but it's just to show that it is possible.
My win rate is about 1 in 30 at the moment. There was a glitch early last week and I can't believe that over 600 winners were pulled out on those days.
Massive base-32 primes?0 -

I imagine they could be used for these too - as gamer codes usually have a mixture of letters and numbers that are about 25 characters long.
Okay, I stand corrected!0 -

Would your husband say that it would be better to spend the time to write the program than to buy the codes at 50p a stick?
Out of interest, does he say they are base-32 prime numbers?
Or if they are just 10-digit, base-32 random numbers then I'm guessing it would have to be a program that tried loads of numbers automatically against their website...?
I'm not interested in trying it, I can't program and hate the idea of learning to program, but I'm interested in the general principles behind it.0 -
Ok, magnum are now saying that you dont get any confirmation emails or texts. they stopped them 2 weeks ago. !!!!!!???
Next they said that with the glitch the confirmations would be delayed. OMG my head is going to explode. I did ask why they are telling different stories to everyone that calls and they couldn't answer that one.
He told me to email them with the code I used to make sure it went through as well as sending it off. If like they have just told me alls well then why would I need to do that??
Have emailed them anyway. xx

I think I must be about he unluckiest peron ever with this comp
have had 50 packs of magnums no wins
however I personally think it is great that so many people have won including the big winners .
I say good for them . Where I have not been lucky they have I personally doubt that they have been cheating and think magnum chose to make rules which would get people buying lots of magnums .
they could just as easily said one prize per person or per household . They did not, and lets face it they have upped the sales of magnums hugely , in my opinion they got just what they hoped for and this being the case those that spotted this comp early on had a field day I am happy for them and wish Id known about it myself ( so better luck next time ) and well done to everyone who won I for one hope every one of you enjoys spending your prizes whatever the value .
to those who havent done so well good luck I hope you get great prizes some time soon . Thats what this site is all about0 -

I love this comp - for sheer hilarity value alone! 'Tis sheer madness m'dear!
As I've said before, I'm just glad I'm not one of the poor Customer Service reps. Imagine waking up every day, knowing you are going to have hours and hours of questions and complaints that you have absolutely no answer to! No wonder they are making stuff up - probably the only way THEY can stop THEIR heads from exploding!Living with Lupus is like juggling with butterflies0 -

I can't remember exactly, Orange. It was a passing comment a few weeks ago when I had troubles with magnum sticks. If I remember correctly, it was along the lines of them all following a certain pattern, (e.g we all know they start with RS, or HF, HD ....) whether it be magnum sticks, coke cans, galaxy book codes, none are randomly generated. I guess the program would be based on deciphering exactly what those patterns were and then a second program to throw out the exact codes ( that is purely my guess).
I am the least technical person around, purely because Oh does it all, so apologies if my answers are vague - plus I don't want to get people even more agitated by this comp than they already are. The percentage of people complaining of already registered codes makes me think this is not the main problem with the competition - more the customer services mismanagement and poor technical management from Magnum itself.
Edited to add : I'm not sure a lay person could write the program, Orange. My husbands idea of "free time" is writing personal trading programs and does similar for a job - although the standing joke is that Magnum sticks have proved more profitable in our house than any trading program he has written lately.0 -

Sorry rant over
So we're getting a different story each time?
I think the ISP should hear about it complaints@isp.org.uk0 -

Yeah, I've enjoyed this comp too.
The CS reps hate these forums, generating loads of gossip that they have to deal with...
