Very true. It still seems very strange though that a lot of us have gone to enter codes only to get a message saying the code has already been used.:mad:orange_plastic wrote: »As I calculated in an earlier post, with 32 possible characters (1-9 and A-Z without 'O') in 10 positions there are over 1,000,000,000,000,000 combinations and I estimate Magnum have released at most 500,000 codes. Hence if you take the first four (standard) characters of a code, the chances of guessing a valid code from the other six are around 1 in 2000. It would take long enough to try (on average) 2000 codes that one would be better off buying 6 valid ones from Asda at 50p each.
In other words, the more deternimed cheat who tried to guess codes wouldn't have managed to enter more than a handful before realising how stupid an exercise it would be.0 -

send the sticks off anyway - if they've been entered then it won't matter and if they haven't then at least this way you will get new codes2008: £783.12 - 2009: £6,401.15 - 2010: £4,230.61 - 2011: £8720 - 2012: £2,041.89
2013: £134.960 -

Never forget that they are the one's who will never find happiness, satisfaction or value in life.

I get the impression from the posts on this forum that this message has nearly always been generated when trying a code again because of an error message the first time around (like last night) or because of some phones sending the same text twice (in which case that message is received plus another one accepting the entry).0 -
I'm not going to say how, but husband is an uber techie and gets paid for being an uber techie. He says he would be able to write a program that could automatically generate correct codes.
I can hand on heart assure you that we would never do it, but it's just to show that it is possible.
My win rate is about 1 in 30 at the moment. There was a glitch early last week and I can't believe that over 600 winners were pulled out on those days.0 -

Yep, you can get them all over the internet - they are the ones gamers use to crack the codes that link a PC game to one PC. So people can upload and fileshare games.
I imagine they could be used for these too - as gamer codes usually have a mixture of letters and numbers that are about 25 characters long.Living with Lupus is like juggling with butterflies0 -

Any codes that were entered last night that got the error message will NOT have been entered into the draw as they are lost within the system.
I going to send my stick off and hopefully will receive a new code before the end of the promo. Not sure what to do about the other sticks that I haven't entered yet though. ??
Just spoken to Magnum again and they assure me that the codes will have gone into the draw, including all the personal info. entered. The logic he gave is that if the code hadn't been accepted onto their system then it wouldn't have had the 'already entered' message when attempting to re-enter it and the other info. entered would have been accepted likewise (it makes sense that the system wouldn't accept the code but strip the personal info. off).
He also told me that normally there is about a two day backlog in answering emails so it's best to phone. I would suggest phoning AND emailing, so there's always something in writing.0 -
