I know Abbey, Halifax & Natwest/RBS still issue them, but Barclays and Lloyds do not.
Does anyone know who else is still issuing them before the disapear as a facility for the customer?

Also my mate has a Barclays £50 cheque guarantee card and he opened an abbey account with a £100 one, he wants to stay with barclays.
Would they still upgrade the cheque card by £50? to match his abbey so he can close it???JS Name: Freemans £94/£200, Jacamo £941/£1400, Santander account £0/£0 Limit, 3 network 18mthx£20, Vanquis £233/£250, Vodafone 24mthx£35, Great Universal £500/£600, Littlewoods £500/£600, Marshall Ward £250/£300, Halifax Reward £93/£100 o/d, Studio £44/£250, Flybe £1450/£1500, Accessory £450/£520.0 -
AFAIK Abbey do not still issue them - at least not as a 'stand-alone' card which I am assuming you mean from your OP?
I would imagine they would only consider this (assuming they offer £100 CGC as not all banks do) if he was switching to them.0 -
The card itself is a Multi Function card which is a visa debit, chip n pin & guarantee card. During the application the clerk said a credit card was available £250 limit and a £300 overdraft.
Just wondering who still issues them as they are rare in this day and age.JS Name: Freemans £94/£200, Jacamo £941/£1400, Santander account £0/£0 Limit, 3 network 18mthx£20, Vanquis £233/£250, Vodafone 24mthx£35, Great Universal £500/£600, Littlewoods £500/£600, Marshall Ward £250/£300, Halifax Reward £93/£100 o/d, Studio £44/£250, Flybe £1450/£1500, Accessory £450/£520.0 -
I may have misunderstood you?
I assumed your OP meant cards that have only a cheque guarantee function (ie no ATM/no debit)
Abbeys MFC is £100 cheque guarantee (+ atm and debit functions). Halifax Debit Card also has £100 CGC.
Thats the ones I know for sure.
My understanding (could be wrong) is that all full debit cards (ie not electron) have a cheque guarantee facility - they havent been phased out yet unless ive missed it.
Also Im confused by your contradictory comments re Barclays0 -
We do still issue them on our full Connect cards. What would William Shatner do?0

My First Direct and Nationwide cards both have the cheque guarantee function on them. My Barclays platinum credit card also has it, despite the fact that I have never had a Barclays current account, so I have no cheques to guarantee!0

Well at 3pm I slipped into St Helens branch had an review.
The outcome was that your 20yr old fit girl adviser said Barclays don't issue guarantee cards hence why I didnt not continue with my application.
I am not going to close my abbey account until they match like for like.
