PS3 connecting to surround sound amp

The title may give it away but I'm technically inept!
I've got a Panasonic HD tv, ps3, denon Amp/surround sound set up and sky. Although I can play blu ray and see them ok the sound doesn't come through the surround sound. Someone at work told me I need to get and HDMI cable but I've just been looking at the back of the amp and there is no socket for HDMI. The amp is Denon S-101. Does this mean I'll never be able to listen to Blu Ray through surround sound?!
PS3 is my 15 yr old sons but he's away at the mo so can't ask him what to do...
Thanks Px

you use the hdmi lead for picture (to get best results) and there is another output on the back of the ps3 for audio phono leads to your amp. you need to go into the ps3 settings to select this output0

There should be a TOSLINK connection on the back of the amp hopefully (also called OPTICAL DIGITAL)
You need to connect via an optical lead to get 5.1 surround sound:idea:0 -

I can see a socket marked optical digital... do I put the lead from there into the PS3?

you will also need to get a toslink/optical digital cable if you dont already have one.
when you have it all plugged in you will need to change the output in settings > sound settings as sunshine said.0 -
Sunshine said PHONO leads though. Which leads me to suspect that Sunshine hasnt set theirs up correctly:idea:0

Phono might not give 5.1 surround though, just stereo.
I was having the same problem with my Xbox 360 and Panasonic Amp. The digital cable fixed it though.
