Clash with Firefox, MSE forums and Mcafee internet security?

Watcha,
I've been using this site for a while and have had to switch over to using IE as the forums just won't load in a timely manner in firefox.
I recently upgraded to 1.5 hoping that would sort it, disabled all my extensions, but nope, the first forum menu still takes 30 seconds to load in ff and instant in IE.
I've been noticing that mcafee internet security has some little quirks (for instance it blocks access to a website I own, doesn't tell me its doing it or through up any errors, just produces a blank page...). So I disabled it and tried again. Works GREAT in firefox now!
So I just wanted to ask, any known problems with mcafee, ff and the forums? any reason why it should cause the site to load quite so slowly???
Thanks
E.M.

It does say on the articles the following but I use FF and can't say I have problems with it.
If you type firefox into the search button for this board only you will find other threads regarding this.
This site is optimised for Internet Explorer (wonky formatting may occur on other browsers)

Thanks edinburghlass, I couldn't find anything useful on a search either...
Ho hum, at least I know what's causing it...0 -
I only ever use Firefox to view this site. I never get any problems with the forums loading (no lag at all)
I would double check your settings for McAfee. It would seem that if this is blocking access to certain sites, it could also be causing problems with this site to load properly.
It may also be worth having a look at the L8NC site. You can join this for free (no spam) and set up a test on your internet connection. It will ping you once a second and report on the state of your connection in a graph form. If you are getting lots of packet loss or high ping times. You can send a link to your ISP with the graph for your line so they can see what the problem is.How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Rex, I've no doubt its mcafee at the bottom of this (shoddy piece of....). As I said, once disabled the site works just fine.
A bit odd though that its mcafee AND firefox in combo (works fine in IE). will have a look at the site recommended thanks0
