How do i put up net curtain wire??

I got around this problem by drilling a hole pointing upwards into the brick recess at each end just big enough to insert a small piece of wooden dowel into each hole. Then screw a hook into each dowel. You can either glue in the dowel or just leave it (the tension from the wire is enough to stop if falling out)0

I really would go for the tension rods. I've never heard of putting curtain wire hooks or eyes into brickwork, they should be screwed into wooden window frames - but of course most of us don't have wooden frames anymore. Another point, if you put the hook rather than the eye into the curtain wire then when you thread the wire through the net curtain (or especially when you remove it) it will easily catch and tear the net.
Tension rods really are worth it, I wish I could use them on my front windows but they are bays.

We have some in our UPVC window frames. They will easily hold a small hook and eye combination for net curtains. Obviously it does mean you will have small holes in your UPVc frames if you remove them but can easily be done by hand usually0

Use net rods and sticky pads - however, they tend to lose their stickyness over time, and eventually drop off. When enough have dropped off, the rod and curtain come crashing down onto the window cill. This happened to my bedroom window in the middle of the night - I thought I was being burgled!"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0

I've got mine into the pvc frame, it's not easy but you can do it.
I held the hook with some pliers, tapped it till it took hold then screwed it in. You might not want to do what I did though, hit your thumb with the hammer.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Old style MoneySaving boards.

Seeing as the OP asked her question almost 2 years ago I would hope by now she has managed to get her nets up."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0
