I actually like magnolia, its a nice clean, warm colour. And its a lot better than bare plaster walls which is what the rest look like

i like it too really, its just in my last private rented house, every room was magnolia, and i longed for a bit colour!
i just wanted to tone down the yellow tint a bit, and think i have managed it. Will be doing a feature wallpaper wall, so that may give the plain walls a nice hue.
many thanks for all your replies :beer:0
