what to do with magnolia?

hi
when i first moved into this house, i ended up with a huge tub of magnolia paint (by mistake - don't ask lol
) and it has sat in the cupboard ever since!
Now, i am finally getting round to sorting my bedroom out, and as the walls are in good condition, am just going to paint them. But, after moving from a house where every room was magnolia, i dont really want to go down that route again!
This may be a really stupid question
, but is there any way of 'tinting' the paint, to end up with a stone or beige type colour? I dont really want to fork out for more paint (room is quite large) and it would be great money saving if i could use this one!:A

You probably could mix another colour of the same brand of paint but then problem would be making sure its completely mixed or you would get colour variations. And of course you would have ot make absolutely certain you have enough to go round as making more of the same shade would be very difficult unless you use exact quantities.0

Certain brands of magnolia mixed with white give either a cream or a stone colour. Homebase gives more of a cream colour, B&Q gives more of a stone colour. It is right you have to have the mix exactly right though, so get a very big bucket or measure it very precisely4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0

i have mixed the white and magnolia, got a nice cream colour, so i think i am going to stick with that. If i have any left at the end, i will try the coffee recipie, just to see how it turns out!0 -
I know what you mean about being magnolia-phobic... I blame student rented houses for my aversion to the colour.
A friend tinted her paint using kids powder paint granules in the end - worked quite well.Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0
