Hi guys, not been on for a while. quick question. Does anyone know what the maximum i can contribute to household bills and living when i live with my partner but my name not on the mortgage? Can i only contribute half to bills or can i contribute more than this.
I only ask as there is possibility of full time work somewhere which will earn me a decent wage, but i dont want to have loads of it taken off me if i have an excess amount.

I dont think there is a max amount, it would depend on his income too they would not agree to you paying 90% if he earnt more money than you.0

So can i contribute to the mortgage even though my name not on it, and i presume i can contribute 50% to bills ??0

Yes you can contribute to the mortgage BUT it would then give you a BI in the property. I am not sure the OR would worry to much about it at this late stage but it is a possibility. Give NDL a ring and ask thier opinion on the BI question. You could put it down as rent rather than the mortgage.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0

If i put an amount down for rent would they question the amount, i.e could i put 350 for rent then 50% of bills
Is there a maximum amount i can put down for travelling (public transport)? I assume i could have an allowance for taxi fare if public transport unavailable as i still have to get around on sundays etc??0 -
would they take my partners income into consideration even if he not bankrupt or is it nothing to do with them and im allowed to have all my living allowances eg 350 rent, 150 food 150 travel etc ????0

A bankrupt is asked to provide details of a partner's income, as it is assumed that a partner will contribute to the household expenses. Details of payments from any other member of the household who contributes to household expenses are also needed. If the bankrupt is not willing to provide this information, he/she will not be able to claim the full amount of all household expenses."Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."

Rent or mortgage payments have to be reasonable for the area the bankrupt lives in and the size of the family"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."

A bankrupt is not required to give details of a partners income, only their contribution to the household to show they are contributing their fair share.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

I think you only have to put down partners income if you are claiming that you pay the full amount of the expense. Like it says 'If the bankrupt is not willing to provide this information, he/she will not be albe to claim the full amount of all household expenses' If you are claiming that you both pay then you have to put partners contribution.0
