bit of a newbit and oldie n not sure where to post....

Got a new Nokia 5800 and wondered where was the best play for (pref FREE) games and applications/software to download for it.

I also have a 5800, got it last week. I previously had an N95 and i used to download stuff from www.mosh.nokia.com for apps, ringtones, games, etc. which, as you'll see from the name is for nokia phones. I believe the website will be changing its name to something like Ovi, but the new site is still under construction I think.

ps. No issues with spam, viruses, etc.

Unfortunately not. There might be an edition coming out in the future, but as of now, it doesn't exist!

I think the 5800 works with Mosh, although I haven't downloaded anything from it yet. There are certainly a few 5800 apps and stuff on there, however most are a bit naff.
