My guess Kimberley is it's going to be how much you will have to pay in rent council tax and whether you receive maintainance or not which will affect what you do.

Yeah i guess so , thanks for all your inputs  I'll let you know tomorrow what they say and whether or not i will take this leaflet job :p

If kimberly is working less than 16 hours but not getting IS cause she earns to much, the she will prob get free meals because she is only claiming CTC, but total income will need to be less than £13k
Yes that's right. She can only get fee school dinners if she works less than 16 hours because working 16 hours or more will put her on WTC. But to be honest unless you've got the most brilliantly paid paid time job who is going to be able to afford to not be on IS cos you're over income and not be on WTC cos you're not doing enough hours:confused:

Right I'm with you now I think. So if your IS is £120 a wek say you can earn £119 and just keep £20 but you have a problem if you earn £121. Is that what you mean.
    I
    Yes :T :T :T :D
But because you only claim IS now for yourself what IS pay is not a vast amount and can be achieved by few hours but not enough hours to claim WTC so basically people will be in the crap

LOL this is what helen is saying- you need to add your dinner lady money and leaflet money together. If that amount is more than your IS then you can't be on IS but you can't claim WTC cos you don't work 16 hours. So you'll live on your wages plus CTC. I have no idea whether you'd be able to do that and get help with rent, council tax this way.

When you find out the answer from CAB etc let us know.

If your claiming as a loan parent it might be worth seeing the New Deal loan parent adviser at the jobcentre. If you are working over 16 hours there may be additional financial help available to you
