Er, you got £400 quid knocked off then payed £550 quid for the warranty....?
Doesn't that make up the difference saved and then some
....
Just for your information and anyone else reading this (I'm sure it's common knowledge by now), John Lewis offer a free 5 year warranty as standard on all their TVs. :beer:0 -

Taking the warranty is a great way to hammer a good deal on the purchase price. Of course, if you took a sudden rush of buyer's remorse, you could then cancel the warranty during the cool off period

Ok, sorry.
When I researched plasmas to buy, I was told a lot less than that, by knowledgeable people.
However, it appears that Daewoos are 30'000 hours half life.
My research is a bit dated it appears

Im gonna have to chime in here - 480i may actually be in the HD spec, but thats what CRT TVs have been for years. 480p is just progressive scan, which has been available for years on suitable dvd players and TV's.
The main HD spec you should be looking for is 720p [make sure the display device accepts this format and also displays it [This is what the HD ready logo symbolises.]
- some accept this signal but it will get resampled to the inferior quality of the screen.]
The high def spec also includes 1080i and 1080p, but I dont even want to guess how long that will take to appear over here....
The samsung lcd tv with built in freeview from freemans seems a much better deal, especially with the 25% off voucher.0 -
I did say it was the bottom HD spec. I know its not proper HD.0

480 is not HD, which ever way you look at it.
720 is HD minimumBe nice0
