  • It does work and help. However the dealership will have a reasonable profit margin on it. If you can get them to do it for £50 or something then i'd say yes, otherwise just by the the kit and get stuck in yourself!!!

In your case as you are really unable to clean it then Yes.

But there are loads of hand car wash places around run by immigrants. £350 will buy a lot of £5 washes.

It is often the detergents that are used in the car washes that cause the paint to fade or dull. A car needs a good polish / wax at least twice a year to stop this happening.

I had Diamondbright done on a car back in 1999, I've also had Supaguard, these days I use a sealant once to twice a year.
Supaguard, just don't, even DIY, it's hell to polish off.
The Diamandbright really did well and lasted a number of years, but 10 years, no way, your not likely to keep up the aftercare which is funnily enough requires applying a fresh cout of sealant a couple of times a year if memory serves. Fairly easy job though.

I wouldn't pay £350 on a new car (ever again) since most of the work of doing a job like this is surface preparation which is dead easy on a new car that hasn't picked up years worth of grime.
Either DIY Diamondbright or if you are interested I can recommend a set of Duragloss products, especially good on dark coloured cars (gives a "wet look"), which will last a good year or so with just a squirt of Aquawax during drying after washing with their shampoo. Very reasonably priced products too.
Good idea to do a DIY job as soon as you get the car home.

It might be worth looking at the scotchguarding of the interior aspects - as this often gets overlooked
