Lakeland yoghurt maker, anyone got 1?

I have one and love it. I use 7oz dried skimmed milk reconstituted with cold (except in very cold weather, when I add some hot just to take the chill off) water in a large jug to make 1 litre. As already said you need a good live yogurt as a starter but you only need about 1 tablespoon.
I have a very cold kitchen and find putting a teacosy over the machine helps to keep the heat in and produce the yogurt in the stated time, but in the summer I would not need to do this.
I flavour mine with homemade jam, lemon curd, or honey. Sometimes I add Basics oranges and brown sugar. I do like Sunnyday's suggestion of blitzing fruit to add and may try that sometime.

I have one and i love it.
I put 1 small tub of yogurt in mine (usually asda's greek), UHT milk and 2 tablespoons of dried milk, add the boiling water and leave for 8 hours ... yummy every time.
Oh and you don't need the nat yog every time, just one every 8-10 attempts, the rest of the time i use the last bit of the previous tub.
Also you need to make sure the yogurt your using is LIVE not all yogurt is, check the label it should tell you, otherwise you will just get warm slightly yogurty milk.

I'm assuming that the Lakeland one that';s referred to in the OP is electricI had an electric one (from Freecycle) but didn't get on with it. I far prefer my Easiyo (also from Freecycle
).

I usually use full fat starter, but have had good results with low fat, too.
I always use full fat UHT milk, though - skimmed or semi-skimmed milk has never worked for me.

Been to morrisons and have bought the M greek full fat yog as a starter, but only have uht value skimmed milk so will have to use that, will put some dried milk powder in as well.
Going to put it in in the am so will let you know!

Hi- all, I am a newbie here.
Crockpot- i also have a lakeland youghurt maker- i absolutely love it, it has saved me £££'s over the year i have had it. Find i get best results with full fat milk. The kids love it mixed with honey or choc raisins. Hubby was not sure at first but he is addicted to it now. Hope this batch turns out well for you.Every day is a giftSome days it is just harder to see it than others.0 -
I have the electric yog maker from Lakeland and find it to be one of the best products I have bought from them.But I have found the timings suggested with the product to be bogus for the type of yoghurt we like.We prefer a thick Greek style yoghurt and so I usually start the yoghurt one morning and take it out of the machine the following morning.I then strain the yoghurt through either a fine sieve or I use a soft cheese making sieve.I leave the yoghurt to drain for a couple of hours and it makes the thickest creamiest yoghurt you can imagine and well worth the effort
As for the type of milk used I use UHT Semi-skimmed at room temp and a couple tbsps dried milk powder
