DEADLINE FOR EX-ICESAVE ISAs NOW EXTENDED

Options
Announcement today that the deadline for reinvesting ISAs previously held with Icesave using the FSCS certificate has been extended by 6 months to 5th October. (Great news for someone like me who has left it too late to do the job properly by 5th April!!) See article 5080908 "ISA extension for Icesave savers" on today's Daily Telegraph website.

  • Baldur, thanks for that link. Being a relative newbie I wasn't allowed to post any links.
  • Bummer. I've just re-invested mine in order to make the 5th of April deadline, and it would have been much better off in Egg savings (fixed at 6.3%) for another 6 months, before putting it in the ISA.

Now wondering whether I can cancel it.

Me too ... but probably why it was only announced today, so that only people who missed the Deadline through genuine reasons would not get caught out, although the ignorant/lazy will also benefit I suppose

    Announcement today
Well, Saturday actually. It was on Moneybox and the BBC website at the weekend.
Did you really mean to put loose?
Lose: no longer possess, not to retain, unable to find
Loose: not firmly or tightly fixed in place

Me too -I transferred from a fixed rate of near 6% to put into the halifax fixed rate of 3% in order to get the tax fee status and obviously not lose my full isa allowance. I would like to cancel mine-perhaps someone can post if they are able to cancel. seems ridiculous that they have announced this at this late stage.
