Best Value - Fastest Connection? Help!

Hi
I was on TalkTalk Broadband but had nothing but problems with them, got 6.8mbs speed with them at the beggining which was fine but now only getting 3-4mbs.
Moving back to BT for phone line and just wondering what people reccommend is the Best Value ie. Price for the Fastest Connection?
I'm looking for a 8gb connection minimum on ADSL2? I've had ADSL Boxes fitted ie ADSL and phone line separated for better and faster connections.
02 looked pretty decent, Do they do decent speeds?
Thanks

Check on what you should expect on Samknows. That gum you like is coming back in style.0

What's that?
I just really would like people's own reccommendations?0 -
If you go to http://www.samknows.com/broadband/search.php
you will see what the maximum speed you can expect from your exchange is. You will also be able to see what ISPs are available in your area. With this information you can choose the ISP on the basis of maybe customer service. If for instance you only have ADSL (as I do) you can't get virgin or any of the LLU services so you will be unable to get the cheapest options (but I'd like to be wrong on this).
If the maximum on your line is 2Mb then it doesn't matter what IP you go with, you won't get more.
Someone at the other end of the country might be getting 8Mb from the same ISP as you get 2Mb from so comparing this won't get you anywhere.

First thing is to find out why the speed has dropped. TT are a pretty bad ISP, but is that download speed, or sync speed?Moving back to BT for phone line and just wondering what people reccommend is the Best Value ie. Price for the Fastest Connection?
Be* or O2 get my vote. I'm with Be*. Love 'em.I'm looking for a 8gb connection minimum on ADSL2? I've had ADSL Boxes fitted ie ADSL and phone line separated for better and faster connections.

8mbit not 8gb. O2 and Be* are the same service. O2's got a longer contract. Be*'s more expensive, especially if you have an O2 mobile.
Assuming your line's ok and it's a TT problem causing the slow speeds (which is probably is) then you're PROBABLY looking at 8 or 9mbit with O2 or Be*, along with 1.3mbit upstream. Remember quidco!
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0 -
Oh yeah 8mbs sorry! I may try 02 then as I'm on 02 pay as you go.0

02 and Be* use the same network & I'm with Be*. Get great speeds, for a great price. (Just asked them if they could match 02s price aswell and got my bill down by a fiver a month). Would recommend them to anyone and therefore can safely assume 02 will be just as good for speeds and would recommend!0

Can you post your router statistics?
You may find your router here:-
http://www.kitz.co.uk/adsl/frogstats.php
It should give a better idea of whats going on.
If possible check them whilst plugged into your test socket as shown below.

I exported a log file of my modem.
Does this help any?
I actually had ADSL Boxes fitted by BT as I was assured this was the best way for ADSL connections, ie. ADSL and phone line separated for better and faster connections.

From the above you seem to be on the limit you can achieve with the above noise margin. This is a bit strange considering your low attenuation figure, I would have thought that download sync of 8Mbps + should be achievable with ADSL2+.
You say BT have fitted ADSL faceplates, have you tried using the test socket, as the stats suggest a noisy line. That gum you like is coming back in style.0
