Where to stay in Barcelona..

Hi, im going on holiday from around 7th May - 12th May and need to stay quite close to Catalunya. Does anyone know any good places to stay around there?

Ive also been looking for a flight and hotel as cheap as possible, but im not getting very good prices, any tips for getting a cheap holiday to Barcelona?

A long weekend to Barcelona isn't cheap.

Perhaps pick a cheaper destination, perhaps Porto.

You can get Ryanair from Stansted to Barcelona Girona for £10 each way on those dates, although I would pay an extra £10 on the return to catch the evening flight back. You will have to get bus, or have other transport from Girona.

As for hotel, I take it you mean near las ramblas? If you're after cheap, I could recommend Centric Point. Basically it was a 5-star hotel converted into a hostel. But, you can book a double-ensuite on the top floor, which, to all extents and purposes, is a hotel room. It's on the main street and (at least I did) you get a balcony with fantastic views overlooking the street. It's something like 40 euros a night including breakfast.

That hostel sounds great. I went with ample apartments through lastminute.com which meant saving money cooking in the apartment. It's a fantastic city!

Rues or Girona are equal distance in opposite directions, but I agree with the xtra £10 for the evening flight.

I forgot that Easyjet have a sale on with 50% off routes, so they might be a better bet as they fly from BCN airport which is only a short bus ride away.
It might be that for the cheapest fare, you have to fly one airline going out and one going back.

For even cheaper times, if you have a breakfast buffet you can always take extra bread, fruit, biscuits, etc. Not sure if this is going too far!

The place was recommended to me; there are actually quite a few similar type of places in that area but you'll have to research a bit yourself. I would guess that if the grand prix is on prices might be slightly different though.

Ah, the flights, I'm assuming you're flying to/from London airports. For instance BCN - Stansted on 12 May is 21.99 Euros, inclusive of taxes. From other airports the price might be different.
