How to sell a Laptop? (without using eBay)

I need some advice from fellow learned MSE'ers.
I have a brand new laptop computer (competition win) that I want to sell, but I fear putting it on eBay because of all the horror stories about buyers pulling switheroo's and sending back faulty units instead of the shiny new one that you sent.
I currently have it sitting on Amazon Marketplace, but it could be sat there for weeks, even months unsold, and I could do with a quick sale
Playtrade is out because the laptop doesn't exist on there as an option. I have looked at gumtree and eBid, but they look a little slow moving.
Are there any other outlets that you can suggest?

UV marker to identify so that buyer can't switch.0

Proving it is one thing, but is it easy to get PayPal to accept proof? It's also bagged and sealed with a security sticker, I don't really want to break that sticker. We have removed your signature - please contact the forum team if you are not sure why - Forum Team0

Sell it on Amazon, that's what I did after nearly getting it ripped off me on Ebay.0

Silly question. How much are you looking for it ?Make £2012 in 2012 #115: £919.86 / £2012

It is currently listed on Amazon, but they take a huge bite out for fees, plus it could be on there for weeks and I am hoping for a fast sell, I may come down on the price to try and kick it out the door faster.
I considered the likes of Cash Converters and CEX, but they'd want to offer a pittanceNo harm in asking though I suppose.

You pays your money, you takes your chances.
Amazon may be perceived as safer, but as you are finding out, it's slower and quite expensive.
CEX & Cash converters - quick, but get a pittance
eBay gets you high exposure, quick sale, but you need to keep your wits about you. Set up ultra-tight buyer requirements - see this thread for details - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=15101411&postcount=20
Not everyone on ebay is a scammer though, and don't be fooled into thinking that scammers only target ebay.
Ultimately though, as it was a competition win, whatever you get for it is pure profit. It just depends how much you want to make on it, and how quick you want the money.<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0 -
I'll probably take my chances on eBay, I suppose my views are slightly tainted by this very forum, but this forum is about problems I suppose, and those problems account for a tiny percentage of transactions.

Do you have a local University?
Is it worth putting on their classified board?
Do you have any friend/relative who would be interested?
What about in the classifieds of a computer magazine?
Or your local papers classifieds - that way it's cash on collection and they can see it's genuine before handing over the cash
