I don't seem to be able to install MALWAREBYTEs. It gets right to the end of the installation process and seems to freeze when it gets as far as finishing installation :mad:0

AVG is awful
If you HAVNT caught anything, then you must be a pretty safe 'surfer' (And if I were you, id give a scan with MALWAREBYTES as a precaution)
Is there anything free you would recommend. Malwarebytes seems to be a try for free service.
usually find these are the programs that make a mess of your machine when you try and remove after free trial.
Been happy so far with AVG, but any new recommendatiions are appreciated :-)0 -

Put the file on your desktop ready to install
Reboot and keep pressing F8 to get into the 'safe mode selection screen'
Select SAFE MODE WITH NETWORKING
Try to install, update and run it from there:idea:0 -

same as what gaming-guy said. Use AVIRA in its place
If you do decide to give Avira a go then uninstall AVG then use the 32 bit AVG removal tool (Uninstalling always leaves 'bits' behind)
http://www.avg.com/download-tools
Avira can be found here ~
Download AVIRA ANTI VIRUS PERSONAL (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_antivir/
From what you say though, you probably have parts of OTHER anti virus programs floating about too!:idea:0 -
Still not having any luck running it

What happens when you try to?
Download SUPERANTISPYWARE (Make sure you click 'DOWNLOAD LATEST VERSION')
http://www.filehippo.com/download_superantispyware/
UPDATE and PERFORM COMPLETE SCAN:idea:0 -

Right click Malwarebytes and RENAME to 'ASDFG' (Making the full name 'ASDFG.exe')
Try running that:idea:0 -
Still no luck after renaming it0
