I was looking at the bottom of the page for this thread and then it magically appeared at the top!

Advice please, what do we think is best length of auction?

    1 day, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days or 10 days.

Also, if selling books, handbags etc what do we think is a good day/time for them to finish?

I am saving so that I can have as much Maternity Leave as possible!!

Where does the time go?

Handbags... if we're talking posh designer then early evening when people have had chance to get home from work - you're probably aiming for girls or women with a nice disposable income... that or sunday afternoons/evenings :)
No idea for books... never had much luck selling those on ebay... You might want to try Amazon for books depending on the books I guess :)

I wouldn't get too hung up on the length of auctions - I rarely look further than that day but others look for 10 days - I think the more important is 5+ days but timing the finish of the auction...

    Found you! :D

I'm going for a target from eBay/Amazon of £100, and to get my Baby Fund to £500 by the end of the month - currently stands at £240.

Clothes and others going on eBay; books on Amazon; wardobe set and other big things on noticeboards at work and Stuff4Sale... And a Lotto win would be lovely! :D

Clearing in the first half of the month, listing in second half :)

    Good luck girlies! :D

Like Sept.baby - my baby is here, but i'd still like to join for my nappy fund!

I'll start with £0 in my paypal - i actually listed about 30 maternity items yesterday, ending Saturday, is it ok to include them?
And when the site is down at the weekend, i've got a pile of newborn sized stuff to list - they grow sooooo fast!

Set aside a bit of time to read through the advice/instructions on ebay and search on MSE too.
I'd start off with small things or a 'buy it now' until you get the hang of it.
Most important thing is read the ebay rules!! ie. Don't get suckered by someone emailing you asking you to end ur auction early and other common tricks they use on newbies

PS. I'm also earning from mystery shopping, yougov, consumerpulse, mumsopinions and valued opinions and possibly gonna join lightspeed as they seem to be getting good reviews on the forums here :D

I listed 8 things on e-bay tonight. I sold items last week totalling £60.00 (its amazing what people will pay for a load of junk). I will start from £0 though as I have already bought hubby his perfume and a jacket with some of the proceeds. I do have enough left for my baby sling though - its like getting it for free when it comes from paypal funds.
