I'm sick of getting this message when Internet Explorer or another program crashes. It asks me to tell Microsoft about the problem. I never send an error report to Microsoft - they must be getting millions of these reports every day and I can't imagine that they will look at mine. Is there any way I can stop this message from appearing in the first place?

If you right-click on "My Computer" on the desktop, select "Properties" from the drop-down menu and click on the "Advanced" tab. In there, there is the option to disable error reporting.0

If your 'sick' of getting them then your computer must be crashing fairly frequently. Id be more looking into WHY its crashing, as opposed to sending reports ABOUT it crashing:idea:0

Well it's programs (IE and Excel mostly) that are being aborted rather than the computer entirely crashing. My suspicion is that it could take me hours to find out the source of the problem.0 -
Why not use Firefox instead of Internet Explorer? I've never known it to crash and it's much faster. Free download.0

Yes, I had problems with pdf files at first, but got it sorted eventually. Getting back to your original question, I've chosen to send error reports a few times and occasionaly get a useful response which explains what's caused the problem and enables me to fix it - or sometimes, to get someone who knows what they're doing to fix it. As far as I know it's a fully automated system, which can sometimes be useful.0

If you're on IE7, uninstall it and then go to windows update and reinstall it...sometimes it's all it needs

If other stuff is crashing, as RiK says, might be an idea to find out why....bet you've got an infection or two....standard practice would be to download MAlwarebytes, SuperAntiSpyware, HiJackThis and CCleaner....
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
download latest version, run registry cleaner (delete all it finds) then run cleaner (ditto)
http://www.filehippo.com/download_malwarebytes_anti_malware/
download latest, update and full scan, fix everything, post log

download, run and post log...and we can see if there's anything going on...
p.s. RiK - you've been sooo busy on here recently, thought I'd give you a helping hand now I'm back about

I have a dodgy "i" key, so ignore spelling errors due to "i" issues, ...I blame Apple
