Employers ignoring me & my appeal

Comments

  • To elaborate on why I was dismissed.

First off their was no consequence to the Health & Safety matter, and It was something that I assumed happened when I wasn't even in my place of work. Basically a window or roof had been leaking and I had only noticed some drops of water on the sill, but had missed that the carpet was wet. They said that this wet carpet was a fire risk, I didn't realize this risk. Usually when you see something, you tell your immediate Supervisor, which is what I did but approx 15 minutes after seeing it. So that's why they dismissed me, or so they say.

lol. Yeah I went to CAB, they told me to follow my employers procedures.

My type of work was a night hygiene assistant, while I studied.

Do you mean you were a cleaner? Silly titles just confuse people!
    Gone ... or have I?

Yeah. Hygiene Assistant was their title for it. I prefer scrubber though ;)
  • Don't you love half stories

I can see why a company would want rid of a cleaner who saw major water leaks and just ignored them

Rather than pedantic replies, some genuine advice might be:

    If you believe that
    a. you were unfairly dismissed
    b. your company failed to follow both the correct procedures laid down in law and their own grievance and appeal procedures
    and
    c. are now ignoring you and failing to respond to relevant and proper communications regarding these matters, then...

Your only option is to take your employer to an employment tribunal.
There is information available on the web on how to go about this or you could contact CAB to advise you on the procedure

    Good luck

How does a wet carpet pose a fire risk? More likely to stop it
It's taken me years of experience to get this cynical

    Are you for real?

You either haven't read the OP's comments or are clearly stupid.

    He did report it!

People like this make me angry!!!

To the OP. I think you have clear grounds for grievance. Places to start are CAB (as previously mentioned) and ACAS.
