£ to recieve a text in France

Please can semeone tell me if it is free or not to recieve a text in France on a UK mobile (vodafone) from a UK mobile in the UK. I have just spent the last hour trying to find out from their website & 191 call centre:mad: and getting nowhere Thanks!
Be good to the young on their way up you might need them on your way down.

    It's always free to receive text messages, anywhere

    You sending them will be at a higher rate than at home, and not from your inclusive bundle. If you want to send quite a few, look into mobile Java programs such as smsbug Fishtest and Vyke, which send an equivalent via using data

    Sorry, but this is totally untrue. You'd be charged the data cost only for receiving picture messages and so on, but never ordinary sms. Recheck your bill.
