Car Hire in USA and Canada

I would recommend taking out excess insurance cover. I booked an all-in car hire deal for 10 days in Canada last year, and enquired over the phone, what the excess was. I think it was around 600 dollars. To insure the excess cost me another 10 dollars a day - but it was money well spent. We hired a large new RV and three days into the holiday, a stone thrown up by a passing truck, made a hole in the windscreen. Fortunately the excess insurance meant I was covered and did not have to pay any excess.0

Insurance in the USA can be a complicated business. Make sure your covered as usignuolo says..
alamo.com include the necessary insurances and things are a lot clearer !

If you book for USA and Canada through avis.co.uk website, there is NO EXCESS whatsoever and the price you see IS the price you pay.
Also, you don't pay anything until you return the car if you choose Pay Later, which in the case of the Barclays discount code, is LESS than the Pay Now price anyway!British Ex-pat in British Columbia!0
