Hi, you shoud not interfere with the treatment that the pest controller is using, it is much better than any you can buy! He should be back in 2 weeks, that is correct, as it can take this amount of time for the poison to work. He will then remove any dead rats found here. It s only after they have started to be poisoned that any holes should be blocked, after all, you don't want to block their escape route whilst they are in the house! Usually, you should get 3 visits, and if they are still a problem, get back in touch with the company, they should continue with extra visits free!
Many people get rats and mice, follow the advice your pest company give you, and it should stop them coming back.
The problem with do it yourself in a small loft is that you do have to get up there to remove any dead ones, they will stink awfully. Pest control has a deodourising spray specifically designed to deal with this.
Hope this is of help to you

we have a mouse. one i hope.
doesnt bother me much, i like mice but would rather it wasnt in the house.
cleaned out the under stairs cupboard today and came accross a nibbled nappy [a clean one that was loose from its pack] wondered what the hell had nibbled and then after moving other stuff came accross a small nest made from nappy material covered in mouse !!!!. this also explains the strange flakes of wood i find nown again by the doorframe, its been nibbling at the door. i assumed this was down to us having to open the door using a knife if we accidentally shut it as the knob fell of a while back.

the only entry route into the cupboard is via a hole for the pipes leading to the kitchen. all cupboards are fine as are enclosed [ive checked] but found another nest made inside the laptop carry case.
no sign of mousey, or 'gerald' as ive named him.

assume he/she is behind the cupboards in the kitchen, never seen him and neither has cain who would be in like a shot. i know loads would go EWWWWWWWWWWW but i like mice but if he did scuttle out infront of me i would probably scream out of suprise.

need to buy some humane traps unless anyone has an idea of a money saving humane trap.

There won't be just the one, never are they on their own. You could have hundreds if you don't get it sorted quickly. Call the council and be careful when you sleep because they bite your feet :D

I love mice too but unfortunately they do considerable damage to your home and as already said, its unlikely there is only one. They could go as far as to chew through cables or even cause a fire.

I know they are cute and gorgeous, but poor Gerald needs to go :(

i know. he has to go.

do the council do anything for council tenants? i only want humane traps.

im suprised i never came accross any considering i found 2 nests, both empty. i know they are recent as they contained some straw from nathans easter hat [this thing shed straw like you wouldnt believe and has been the bane of my life ever since]

kimberley, they dont bite feet!! i hope!

could they possibly be upstairs? we havent seen hide nor hair of them and the only place for access to the cupboard under the stairs in via the pipes to the kitchen, small hole the pipes run through. ive had that whole cupboard out today. encountered a horrid !!!!!!! spider too but he went into the dyson.

Is it going clip, clippity, clop on the stairs?:D

me trying to be brave infront of the kids every time i buzzed me. ruddy thing. and we have ants coming in via the front door too.
