Lots of houses only have a half inch mains connection - its just not big enough to run a shower and flush a toilet without reducing the shower flow. I have learned that its vital not to flush the loo if anyones in the shower. Its a particualar problem in older houses cos the pipes are probably furred up anyway and let less water through.
In my old house I had the service renewed in three quarter pipe and that solved the problem ( Bigger meter size though and more meter rent !).ELITE 5:2
