Matsui washing machine could be bust again

Unfortunately the words Matsui and washing machine do not work well together!!

I didn't even know Matsui were still being made! Had a TV from them - Dixons own brand isn't it? - once that was fine but washing machines. Hotpoint, Hoover, Zanussi, Miele, Indesit are brands that are decent - Matsui - I think you have mad your own back a nice big rod!!

Currys own brand I think (but dixons part of dsgi which is same company so you're possibly right)

Reading round the mse forums hotpoint/indesit and another one all same company now and some people say bad stuff and others say good stuff ...... Minefield or what?!

Matsui is curry's own make. About 15 years ago I bought a Matsui stereo and the volume control didn't work - it was either really quiet or really loud, so I returned it. Got another one - same problem. Tried a few in the store - they all had the same problem - they basically weren't even designed to work in the first place! I had the same problem with Matsui walkmans (remember them :rotfl:). I got a credit voucher and bought a Sony which is still going 15 years later!

I really think buying Matsui is a false economy - cheap doesn't necessarily mean good value. I'd never buy another Matsui product, especially something like a washing machine when you occasionally hear in the news about them catching fire.

I think the best cheap brand is Candy - my mum has used them for years. Personally I always buy Zanussi as they do best for reliability in Which? magazine and are still decent value.

Sorry about the rant - I just heard the word Matsui and saw red! :mad:

Yes - a lot of people don't realise that Currys / Dixons are the same company - well, used to be! I think Goodmans is the same brand.

My Matsui TV lasted over a decade. Washing machine doesn't really go though! You paid £220 no?

do not buy the WIB111 Indesit mine is rubbish broke down 4 times in 8 mths so far!!
