Buggy advice

We are looking to get a light buggy for our 3 month old girl so my wife can use the bus and travel easily without having to take the bulky travel system we have.

We were looking at the Maclaren Triumph Primo as our budget is £50 max. Anyone else got one of these or can recommend something better?

i used a mclaren triumph and it is great it was about £70 at mothercare two years ago i have had to get a new raincover last year but apart from that it has been fine, the raincover was more expensive to replace than my mama and papa pliko one which i couldnt understand i think it cost me about £25 anyway good luck!( ps,the basket in the bottom isnt that good i found i hardly used it because it didnt hold a lot not very deep) and the cross bar underneath and seat above so close it made it hard to get things back out! hope my comments help you!!

I have just got my buggy from ToysRUS they were great, I took my daughter with my and the shop assitant lifted them down off the shelf for me to try and walk round with feel the weight etc, and I ended up with their own make. The maclaren was really heavy and their own make comes with a free foot muff. It was £69.99 which is above your budget but they have magazines with money off coupons in the back. I would deffo have a look or at least try their web site. I was so impressed I went back and bought my car seat and it wasn't a one off they were ace.

i think the toys r us own make has a much more practical basket too it is a great size(lot of depth) and they do pink or blue which is nice when i had to replace my raincover i almost bought another one instead and it was toys r us own make that i thought was good

Their prices are reasonable too and the buggy I got can be used from birth it has several positions for lying baby down.

I have the same problem with a heavy pram, i was looking at the mclaren xt but then had a look in toys R us and bought their own buggie and found it to be nearly the same but was £70 cheaper.

Toys R us is definatly worth a look

  • What I would recommend is that any of these buggies can completely swallow your three month old up. Even when my son was 6 months old and we used a Maclaren XT he still didn't look that comfortable. I would recommend getting some kind of cosy inner for the pushchair. Even if the temperature outside is warm, you can get varieties that don't have to be a cosy toe.

I know it's above your budget but the Mamas & Papas Aria is fab. Argos are doing it with footmuff etc fot about £99.

I got my aria second hand and use it loads. It folds easily and is very small when folded and light.

It also has the advantage of being able to click a mamas and papas car seat onto it.

I tried the Mamas & Papas Aria and took it back to the shop within weeks, it might have been a one off but the support wire from the hood poked through the fabric and nearly stabbed the little one in the eye:eek: we swapped for a chicco c1 which is his big comfy buggy and hogs boot space so we bought a maclaren techno xt from costco in january for only £68 and i too think its fabby and easy to fold one handed (once you master it) and has a carry strap and wee pockets on the hood.
The more i save the more i can spend:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
