    Hi all

Vikstar My iron has a 'vertical steam' facility on it, so you can steam things while they are hanging (good for curtains etc) I think this would make the creases drop out, see if your iron does the same

Today I listed a few things on Ebay, fingers crossed they sell. Oh, the item I listed last week sold for almost £10 :D

And the exciting news of the day...I bought a bike. Yes, I finally got one, £26 on Ebay. Got to pick it up from Plymouth, if the person gets back to me tonight will get frugal beau to get it tomorrow. So, can now go exploring locally AND frugally. How exciting.

Responded to an advert on Freecycle about a desk, but there is another person looking at it tomorrow. the lady said if she does not want it I can have it.

Tonight's tea was Rigatoni Sausage Bake and very nom nom nom it was too. I halved the recipe, and I still have enough for another 3 meals  Good job it was nice (and cheap :) )

I have decided to do the 101 in 1001. I am up to 11 on my list, it's quite difficult!

It really is... it took me just over a week to come up with mine... and that was including a couple of times waking at silly o'clock in the morning with something else to add!

Good morning, hope everyone has a lovely weekend, got gardens done where possible and generally was able to make the most of it. Congratulations on finding yourself a frugalcycle, Blairweech! :) Hope you get many happy years of exploring out of it.

Not much to say today, trying not to spend as I've been putting enough time, effort (and money) into the garden without blowing the household budget. It's slightly above average but I'm trying my best. Things just keep going up in price! Coal's next, that's it doubled over the past 5 years!!

    Good morning frunchkins:D

Well I hd a lovely weekend picking up the keys for the new house, camping out on an airbed and being fed by the lovely next door neighbour. All good fun:D
Cleaned the place from top to bottom with star drops and microfibre cloths, measured every possible nook and cranny, window, floor, and even the shed so I can now plan things out better.
Dug over a small plot to be used for potato planting, which had obviously been used for similar in the past as I dug up about 4 potatoes whilst doing it - fastest growing crops i've ever had:rotfl::rotfl:
Yesterdays job was mowing the garden which had got quite long so took a bit of work but the sun was shining and I stopped for a couple of sheep watching breaks in between so wasn't so bad;)
Had a lovely birthday too, personalised combined birthday/new house card from neighbour (very frugal and very lovely!!)lots of sheep and chicken watching, birthday tea complete with trifle :D and a bottle of wine and good company in the evening - what more could anyone ask for ?? Thanks Nyk:A:A

SM, that's sounds the perfect birthday to me. I bet you couldn't believe it at times: actually stopping for a sheep watching break while mowing the garden of your new home:j. It is truely lovely to see your dreams being realised - something just for you & OH after difficult times and a lot of giving to others too.
blairwich & taka &sft- I've been compiling a 101 list for the last month! Yes it is quite hard but it has really focussed my mine on what I want and is exciting. I have decided now that 30 things in the remaining 234 days of this year (i.e. to 3st dec) is more suitable for me and is motivating me a lot. For me it has been important that they are all life enhancing things (like trips, making things etc) I haven't included any household chores in it. I should complete the 1st significant one this Thursday:D.
In the mean time, I am going to spend the rest of the year collating a longer term 101.

skintchic - great news on the health front and weight loss: well done:j. And excellent planing ahead on pressie making.

Nyk - so, giving the voice box a well earned rest this week?:D

you turn your back for a minute and suddenly there's something else on the Forum that sneaks into your mind and won't go away. 101 things? (pulls thinking cap on).

First dawning - I'm a serial procrastinator so if I can do ONE thing, it would be to stop this appalling habit.

Off to make a list - for TOMORROW, of course!

SF - I thought a PGCE was one of the funded courses?

You get a busary for doing it, but you have to pay tuition fees to do the course too. xx

    donut.gif It's National Doughnut Week - so I've had a doughnut today :D

Well I wrote a letter for the headmistress and handed it in today. I also spoke to DS2's teacher and he seemed to think it was a one-off and out of character for the boys, but he still made them apologise, so I'm happy with that (for the moment...)

I bought DH's anniversary present today - a £4 t-shirt from Primark . It's our 2nd anniversary which is cotton, and we've got a pact where we spend £1 for each year, I know it's £2 over but he won't know :D.

Vixstar - I'd either 1) put the dress in a steamy bathroom, 2) use the iron on the lowest setting yours goes to or 3) just hold the iron vertically and press the steam button close to it

bb - I knew what it meant, I just never thought of W/dean as "the sticks" :p:rotfl:. Wouldn't mind moving back "in land" a bit, just need to save harder and longer

sophiesmum - I'm so jealous of your move (but jealous in a good way). Hope you had a lovely birthday

For those doing the 101 in 1001 challenge, good luck, I can't come up with that many things, unless you count housework

Hi Peeples, realised that I dont get to post very often and when I do I sometimes loose the message that makes me cross with myself and I cant be bothered or just dont have time to start again. Anyway want to answer a few peeple..but I may not remember names etc.

Somebody asked me what I sell in the way of cooking at car boots, at the moment its biscuits, shortbread, cheese scones and small fairy cakes. I dont cook in excess anything that I will be unable to keep until the next week if I dont sell it, or else I have to either eat it or give it away. If I eat I will get to the size of a house and if I give away my profit is reduced.

Nyk you tried to tell me where you live without actually saying and yes I think I have guessed from the clues you gave and no I dont live anywhere near more in the middle of the county! How wonderful to have a frugal neighbour, I think mine are seriously worried about me and my way of living .

Somebody.....either Purplevamp or redglass gave me a connection through to a cupcake carrier website and I bought two, yes I know it was not very frugal but they are so lovely that I couldnt resist and they have been so useful but do tend to get hot when sitting in the sun on a table in the middle of a field on a warm Sunday morning., car booting.

What else, Oh yes my frugal living is going a bit haywire mainly due to not having enough time to keep records but I know things are much better financially because Ive been able to save some money, which is a new thing for me.

Even though I'm not posting often I do try to keep up to date with everyones news and achievements.
    Keep to £400 a month on C/C.
