Pathetically I speak as someone for whom any map of the UK might as well be completely white where Scotland is, with the words of doom "here be dragons...". I have vitually no points of reference for any areas of scotland what so ever other than a couple of major cities. I lie prostrate with emarrassment at my ignorance:o. I did fly in to Inverness a couple of years ago, where I hung out with our brand spanking new female poet lauriete for a week with 14 others all having a lot of fun with poetry( and jolly lovely and fun she is too).
Gorgeous ducklings Nyk.
Impressive figures MR DT & penny.
CW - hope you have a lot of fun this weekend with your various crafting pursuits.
Ram - good luck with the housing decisions: good advice from NYK.
When I was deciding whether to move to this neck of the woods 10 yrs ago ( pursuing a dream I guess) I wrote a huge list of pros and cons. When I realised all the cons were essentially fears I realised I have to take the chance and do it. Best decision I ever made, though scary, starting over completely on my own. Just writing that has made me realise that I already live in my dream place. Feels good to reaffirm that.
Been working on my latest mosaic creation. This is following my dream, to explore my creative side and realise any lurking potential. I am probably at my utmost happiest when at my mosaic workshop each week pursuing my own designs and ideas.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
BB- that mosaic is cuuuuuuuute
(And I consider Gateshead to be 'well up norf' too)

I love the mosaic!!
PS Definitely "down south" :rotfl: I am similarly hazy about England and especially Wales. I know where major cities/towns are but smaller places... nope! What is even worse is I know Australia and New Zealand far better than other bits of the UK!

It is waaaaaaaaaaaaay down south, takes me 3 hours to get there.:D
Now BB, Inverness is defo ooop north, that is a good 3 hours drive for me I was there a couple of weeks ago.
I'm glad that my driving round the country is sparking up such an interesting debate of where ooop north is, I think it is a complete mystery and it is wherever you want it to be, (if that makes sense).:D0 -

It's Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay up north from me, takes over 2 hours to get there, (even longer if you're like me and have to go on public transport)
