Blimey SL, that is a lot of papers! Why does she get so many?! Tell her to go to the local library and read them for free
That link to the shows looks really interesting Nyk. I'd love to go but don't think we have a free weekend between now and leaving (only 47 days to go) but I'll definitely bookmark it for next year, thanks :T
EDIT: you know what, I may just persuade OH to come to the Eco Build Show on the way to London...well, it's always good to keep the Dream Pot inspiration up and sustainables/renewables are his thingYou'll see us on Grand Designs yet

CW - ice cream!
SL - does your mum have a subscription (pay cheaper by direct debit and take vouchers to the shop so you still get to pootle out and pick it up if you want the exercise). Sometimes get 'extras' too eg CD's and books.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
yep - ice-cream. Currently have vanilla, raspberry ripple and mint choc chip in the freezer
I rarely have the last of those, and treat the others as a way of increasing my F&V intake (something I desperately need to increase). If I have vanilla, then I also have a sliced banana. If I have Rasp Ripple then I will have banana rather than nothing, but while they're one of the A!di Super 6 I chop up a peach to go with itCheryl0 -
Hello!!!
I've just spent ages reading through this and promptly forgotten everthing I was going to comment on. My memory is like a sieve at the moment.
I've been plodding along here. I've been trying to drive less and changed my mobile phoen deal for cheaper calls which should save about £15 a month. My housemate built a rocket stove in the garden so we've been cooking on that. In the local Indian butcher chicken wings are only 50p a kilo and served up with a couple of leafs from my growbag, they make a cheap and fairly healthy meal - I'm not normally a wing fan but its amazing how much better things taste when they've been cooked outside.
I've got two new jobs while I'm off uni for the summer. First one is teaching English as a Foreign language in London. I'm really excited about this - its going to be my first proper paid teaching jobIts only a four week contract, I was going to rent somewhere but after a few phone calls I think the prices would make me bankrupt.
I called a woman about a shared house earlier cos the price seemed ok and she was doing the typical estate agent talk and then she mentioned two beds in the room. I said Oh thats good, I can have friends to stay and she replied "No, there's another person in the room"
In August I'm going to be a nanny in south Wales for two gorgeous boys. I drove down for an interview a couple of weeks ago and they are lovely as are mum and dad. The house has lots of things to do and a pool and great big garden so I'm thinking of fun things to do to entertain boys. A bonus of being a live in nanny so far away from my friends is that I won't be tempted to go out. So hopefully I can save my wages which can go towards paying off a debt in Spetember.
Mooloo – have you looked at the Bangernomics site – you might be able to get a cheap but reliable small car that won’t mug you in fuel! My first and best car cost me £500. It wasn’t the brand new thing that my mates were driving about and I got teased for it but it was functional, cute and most importantly did 55mpg! I hate the last laugh on my mates who bought brand new cars on finance cost they are still paying theirs off now years after we all passed our tests.
Also just one more question - why does everyone spell things like tesc0 with a different charcter? There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0 -

Hi Chika, I replace letters so the actual trademarked names don't show up in searches and I think it also helps keep us out of trouble for promoting or bad-mouthing specific companies. Not sure what any other reason is, but that's mine.I reserve the right not to spend.
The less I spend, the more I can afford.

I am not able to send pm's. System won't let me. I was trying to get hold of Boardguide Crabman (only board guide still signed in as far as I can see) to see if an email can be sent to user Taye to see if she is okay. It is regarding this thread:

Hi all,
Am up really early this morning (I was asleep by 9 last night). Looks set to be a glorious day. Am loving my new lappy - my brother has put my email account through Outlook and linked all the blogs through an RSS feed, so now I can keep up to date with everything all in one handy place :T The old lappy gave up the ghost last night - like it knew it could just give up now I have the new one
Does anyone have the URL of Ilona Richards Mean Queen blog? I can't seem to find it anymore
Think I will treat the car to a full wash/valet this morning. Then seeing my Aunt/dropping stuff off at the charity shop this avo, plus a carboot tonight. Should be a fairly frugal day. Have a good one! :cool:We must all suffer one of two things: the pain of discipline or the pain of regret and disappointment0 -

Bails, thanks for the eco home link. It's just round the corner from us! Tea and coffee available here if anyone decides to come down for a course, as long as we're in of course! Just had a couple of days visiting properties in Devon and Cornwall, fantastic! H2B coped with Bessie on his own, though complained about the smelly litter tray :-)
Nyk, we cancelled our tv licence due to no reception. They did say they'd be round to check at some point, but we haven't heard anything since - and that was a month or so ago. I don't miss it at all, and they refunded some of the fee as it was paid by direct debit.Live on £11k in 20110
