Fly Globespan & Hand Luggage

Hi does anyone know how strict Fly Globespan are on checking the size of the hand luggage. You are allowed to take up to 20kg in hand luggage as long as you can lift it up into the overhead lockers. They do however stipulate the size of your bags. Our bags are 2cms bigger. Has anyone had their bags measured. We're flying out of Glasgow Airport. Any help would be great.

Im unsure if they check however at Glasgow and most airports they have a bag size checker and if it doesn't fit then normally it has to go in the hold. Im unsure how strict Globespan are but if they are strict you must be prepared to stick it away.
I will say Globespan say on their website that your overall weight allowance normally includes you hand luggage but again im unsure if the weigh the hand luggage also. Incidently im flying with Globespan in the summer so if anyone out ther can clarify please do so.0 -

Isn't 20kg usually the weight of allowed hold baggage, rather than hand baggage?October Comp Wins -Stella Artois Challice (FB)0 -

Maybe this will clarify from Globespans website.Passengers on shorthaul (Europe and Egypt) flights will have an allowance of 20kgs, to include both checked-in and hand baggage. Premium Economy passengers on longhaul (USA ) & Economy passengers on longhaul (Canada) flights are permitted 25kgs* & Business class 40kgs, both include checked in and hand baggage. *Passengers flying to Halifax are permitted 20kgs allowance.
Can someone confirm how strict they are at check in with hand luggage.0 -

Most seem to allow handluggage of a certain dimension regardless of weight. Easyjet for example:
Baggage Allowances
Each passenger is permitted- one standard piece of hand baggage to maximum dimensions of 55x40x20cm

Cabin Baggage
Flyglobespan passengers are entitled to take ONE bag on board. There is no cost for this and the bag must be no larger than 55cm x 45cm x 20cm. Whilst there is no weight restriction (within the 20kg allowance), passengers must be able to put their own bag in the overhead lockers without assistance.
Passengers and their baggage will be subjected to security screening throughout their journey. To assist us with this, please ensure that your cabin baggage is suitable packed.
Passengers may take liquids on board in their hand luggage provided the liquid is in a container with a maximum volume of 100ml and can be fitted comfortably into a transparent, re-sealable 1 litre plastic bag.
DO NOT pack sharp items in your hand luggage. These include household cutlery, knives with blades of any length, tools, scissors, tweezers, toy/replica guns (metal or plastic), razor blades, knitting needles and darts.
This is the details on their website. It is the sizes of the luggage that I was wondering how strict. As previously said we are 2cms out.0 -
When I flew with Globespan from Glasgow the 20kg included both hand and hold luggage and they will be weighed at Glasgow. I certainly wouldn't want to be sitting anywhere near where a 20kg piece of luggage is in the overhead lockers.
Reading the above again, what they are saying IMO anyway is no charge provided the hand luggage and hold luggage don't exceed 20kg?

We would not be putting 20kgs in the overhead area, I just wanted to know how strict they are regarding the size of the luggage, as our luggage is 2cms larger than the size they are quoting on their website.0 -
I think you'll be ok but it is a gambe.
Is your bagage rigid or is ther anyway you can compress it with luggage straps?0 -
Its rigid. The trolley type.0
