Did you speak to the insurance company before you had the new one put in?

Then they should allow you to get further estimates ( or has it been fixed already? ). If that was a reason, then they should have advised you BEFORE you got the work done.

Why cant they pay out a reduced sum due to wear and tear?

    Dont give up.

Well this is how it went

Ou boiler broke beyond repair due to summat and water damage as there was a leak going on behind it.

We got a quote and just told him to get on with the job as we had already been without heat for a week but thought it just needed a repair of some kind.

It was a friend who said that certain boiler breakdowns are covered on buildings insurances and I saw that water damage is one of the grounds for claiming. But the work had already been done.

    So we are fooked basically.

I suppose originally you weren't going to use insurance as you didn't know about it, but even still, must be annoying as hell when you thought you might get a bit of it back....

Once i get over the dissapointment I will be OK:o

We now have an A rated condensing boiler which will save us on our fuel bills by at least a third I reckon and we have gained a storage cupboard as the old water tanks have been removed.

Every cloud and that.........................but for now I am going to enjoy my mope for a bit longer:o :o  :o:o
