Some savings account allow you to do a monthly transfer by DD, so you wouldn't have to spend any money e.g. by donating to charity.

They do, you're right. So do Bradford and Bingley, and FirstSave.You're spelling is effecting me so much. Im trying not to be phased by it but your all making me loose my mind on mass!!
