Advice needed - new to selling on Ebay

Hiya

I have bought loads on Ebay in the past but am selling some concert tickets (first time seller) and all my bidders except one so far are new with zero feedback. Should I be worried

I've asked for payment through Paypal only and would appreciate any advice to ensure I don't get scammed.

Thanks

PS - Item ends in 10 mins!!!

So how odd is this? The listing has ended so I have the address of the bidder but the address is fake (strange sounding street name, wrong county for the town and a postcode that doesn't exist according to Royal Mail).

I have sent my paypal invoice but wondered if this has happened to anyone else - and am at a loss as to why someone would do this

The ebay address is odd.. but is absolutely unimportant here. The one you have to pay attention to is the paypal address.

Sorry as getting myself a bit confused and didn't know there was a difference - this is the Paypal address (the one on th label I can print off)

Obviously I won't send anything until I have cleared funds, just wondered why someone would do this as am now very suspicious

It's the address that's attached to the paypal payment that you want. If they haven't paid yet, it's too soon to worry :)

Drop by here if anything further happens that's odd... we know the usual tricks that people try.

Exactly what do you mean by cleared funds? You must ship within 7 days of receiving payment and that includes a paypal one, you must ship to the address that paypal tell you is 'OK' to send to. (IGNORE EBAY ADDRESS). if you mean transferring your money out of the paypal account to your bank account it makes no difference, so don't wait for that to go through.

Lastly, make sure items are sent special delivery only and that you retain the proof of postage slip with the special tracking number for a minimum of 6 months. A basic paypal chargeback can be done for 45 days, a claim for unauthorised use of a card up to 6 months, keep that slip safe and make sure it does actually show as delivered.

I mean that the funds are paid to Paypal, which I thought then meant that I was safe to send the tickets.

So far no payment has been made and no correspondence from the winning bidder - will just sit and wait I suppose.

If he doesn't contact me, how long do I have to wait before re-listing? Sorry to sound like I'm firing off questions but I am very suspicious (call it women's intuition ;) ) and really don't want my daughter and her two friends to lose the money they paid out for these tickets.

After 7 days you can open an NPB dispute.

If buyer pays by paypal and paypal say 'OK to send' then you are fine as long as you send to the address that paypal give you and send special delivery. Just remember to keep the SD slip for a minimum of 6 months.

He's emailed me and said he will pay on Friday as he is waiting for a cheque to clear in his bank - sounding even more dodgy now!

I have asked him to confirm his address as the details on Paypal are not a real address accorsing to Royal Mail but he just emailed back and repeated that he is not paying until 'after work on Friday'. As the address he has registered with Paypal does not exist can I query this with them?

Please understand the earlier posts, there is no need at all to ask buyer for their address . The only address that matters is the one in the paypal 'OK to send' box, if that isn't there then at that point you need to talk to paypal.

I did not ask for the address - this came up when I was asked to send an invoice from Paypal so I assumed this was the Paypal address and it doesn't exist! I obviously won't send anything until I have confirmation of payment received from Paypal, but am concerned that he is a first time buyer, the address on Paypal doesn't exist and now he hasn't got the money until Friday, despite putitng in a bid on an auction that ended last Sunday!

Sorry if I am sounding dim - I only came on for a some advice. I will keep quiet now and keep my fingers crossed.
