I think they're cancelling orders which cause them a loss, but allowing all orders giving them a profit. I put in two orders with max. discount, one was cancelled, the other hasn't been (yet). The one that has been cancelled was of low value (after much reduction ;)) - it's possible they were going to make a loss on that one. The other one, it's possible they're going to make a profit...who knows o_O.

I believe they do random checks, every now and then one gets stopped ;)

Just thought I would mention that even with the 50p discount code CDWow is not necessarily the cheapest. I have just ordered a cd from 101cd.com at £7.95 which would have been £8.25 after the 50p discount if I had ordered it from cdwow. I found this out by typing the name of the artist and album into the search box at Kelkoo.com, so it would probably be a good idea to always check there too before automatically buying from cdwow.

True, but that's just a 50p discount. If you use a £1 voucher or something else, it works out cheaper.

Yes of course, but those vouchers appear to be like gold dust these days don't they!

As far as I know, the pepsi one and the 3 x £1.00 voucher links are still working ;).

Tried to buy 2 CDs yesterday using Pricedash and then another voucher.
But they've just emailed a really really looooong email and cancelled my order.
Which is a bit annoying - couldn't they have offered me the opportunity to choose whether I wanted to cancel the order, or continue without one of the discounts - it was only a one pound voucher after all!!

I've ordered from 101cd a few times but sometimes you have to wait ages for your goods to be delivered , they aren't nearly as reliable as CDWow , so i'd prefer to pay that little bit extra to get my cd promptly. For example i've been waiting 3 months for a dvd I ordered and it's not the only item i've ordered from there that's taken far too long to be delivered , but if you don't mind taking a chance that you could have a long wait..........

You can also find out where a CD is cheapest by using find-cd.co.uk

I actually find cd-wow slow sometimes. Not as slow as 3 months, but around 5 to 6 weeks. Most the time they are reliable though, and their customer service is great! :)
Being bored is so boring Im bored of it... :rotfl:

I must admit i've had to wait for one or two items from CDWow , but as you say , most of the time they are reliable and I agree about the customer service icon14.gif

Think it's about time I sent another e mail to 101cd asking where my dvd is
