Hi,
Im currently with Virgin but our bills for the internet and phone are coming in at £40 minimum each month. The Inter is only £15 of that but its the phone thats pushing the deal up.
Basically id like to know the best value for money for Broadband + Home Phone and are there any about for £20 a month or lower that are decent?

You need to give more info about what packages you are currently on and what broadband and phone services you need. Are you saying that you are spending £65 or £40 on the phone each month, if so how is this made up?No free lunch, and no free laptop

Well the Calls we make from the home phone are costing around £30 or more, And we only really ring locally.
Just really looking for a package that has the free calls or anything off calls really so we can have a cheaper bill each month0 -
You said your bills are £40 minimum each broadband and phone, but then that your broadband is only £15? Which is it?
You need to advise which tariff you are currently on and what package you are looking for, eg, for the phone, if you want unlimited daytime calls then obviously you will pay more than if you just want unlimited evening and weekend calls. Similarly with broadband, are you looking for a particular speed or data allowance?
Do you already have a BT line as well as Virgin, because if not, you are going to be limited to Virgin, unless you want the expense of installing a BT line (I'm assuming you are on Virgin Media cable service, not Virgin National ADSL service)?
£20 a month is unlikely, because the line rental is around £11.50, and even if you got broadband for under a tenner, then that leaves no room for your phone package on top. £25 a month might be more realistic- if you already have a BT line.No free lunch, and no free laptop

Well the inter service is £15 a month, I think the phone like is £5 a month but because there are no offers the phone line goes upto about £30 or more.
Id be happy paying £25 for broadband and a home phone mate. I personally dont care about the usage but im sure Virgin are giving us 8mb.
So yeah if there are any offers for £25 id be willing to take a look mate, As i could probably get cashback too.
EDIT - We are with the cable service too.0 -
Go with the post office for home phone £10.72 a month, includes free evening and weekends, along with weekend calls to uk mobiles.
If you have an O2 sim card or account, then their broadband is £7.50 a month else £12.50 if not.
So you could be looking at keeping the figure under £20 if you do it carefully. I am with O2 and PO and can't really fault either service.0 -

If you are on Virgin cable then you can't go anywhere else without a BT line. Sorry but you current pricing does not make any sense, you said your total bill is £80 per month (£40 each) but your phone is £5 (what about your line rental-£11?) and your internet £15, so to make £40 each you must be paying a massive surcharge over your download limit and a massive no. of tarrif exclusive calls-to mobiles maybe?
If you are OOC with Virgin then suggest you change to bundle of 'L' broadband (up to 10MB), plus 'XL' phone (unltd anytime), that will cost you £19 per month plus line rental. No free lunch, and no free laptop

What im saying is the phone is £5 a month with the internet service, But we would only pay £5 a month if we didnt use the phone but because we do and quite a bit the bill gets more.0

If you don't use the phone, you will pay whatever your monthly phone package is contracted at, plus the line rental. You need to advise what package you are currently on for each service (eg L, XL etc), then we can give you proper advice. It's all itemised on your bill.
It sounds like most of your calls are to mobiles, or at times when you are charged on top of your package, so as I said you need to review the tarrif you are on.No free lunch, and no free laptop
