Wagg worker and Chappie on offer at pets at home

Went to pets at home yesterday (redditch branch). Wagg worker 17kg is 2 bags for £17 (50p per Kg) AND chappie 15Kg is buy 1 get 1 half price (£14ish + £7) = £21ish (70p per Kg). Think it was just over £14 a bag but cant remember the exact pennys!

For those on a budget (and even those that are not), dont be put off by Wagg and Chappie being so cheap. It meets all dog food standards and both Vets i have used have no problem with wagg and chappie is no.1 choice for a dog with a tummy/digestion issue.

Look forward(NOT) to people claiming that if they pay £50 a bag, it will secure a more healthy investment as it did on their dog, in their opinion!

If anyone finds these brands cheaper elsewhere or any vouchers, please post the details here...

I personally don't use these foods, not because I have anything against them though, but I know many on here do so they'll be glad you posted! I might get some Chappie for if mine ever gets a dodgy belly!

I'm lucky enough to have a Batleys account for my Kennel. But this might even be cheaper than them!!!! Time for a comparison......

I buy Wagg for my labrador. Wet food gives him a dodgy tummy, and because all the biscuits are the same in Wagg, he doesn't pick through it and spit out the ones he doesn't like!

And the Chappie is on offer until 7th May so plenty of time to stock up ( 2 pay days between now and then!) Think the Wagg offer ends in April but not sure of the date. Got 2 bags of Chappie yesterday, think its on in all stores.

Can anyone tell me what difference the 'worker' bit makes. My two labs are very well exercised, young and lean! but I couldn't claim them to be 'workers'

I am assuming (could be wrong) that a worker variety is more calorific, meaning you need to feed less of it??? or give them more execrcise.

I found the wagg worker (my OH bought it by mistake once) too rich for my dog, it made him a bit sick. I think it's higher in fat and he needed a poo straight away after eating it.

He used to eat wagg all the time, but now eats this breeder pack stuff we get off the pet shop up the road. It's his favourite so far and not luminous colours like some foods! It's the only one he consistently eats and luckily, it's cheap!

I have managed to covert many friends to Chappie - my vet recommends it to lots of people too.

Works out so cheap to feed my dog

Wagg worker - Protein23.00%, Oil10.00%, Fibre3.00%, Ash8.00%

Wagg adult - Protein21.00%, Oil8.00%, Fibre3.00%, Ash8.00%

Wagg worker is fine, as itsmeagain shows the difference between normal and worker is minimal, and the worker's nutritional breakdown is certainly not out of the ordinary compared to many complete foods.

I have fed both Wagg and Wagg worker for years with no problems.

Years ago when I ran a livery yard we used to use "real" food as in oats, bran rather than cubes/nuts that most people use now. We used to do that because it was cheaper and you could dish out what you wanted each horse to have. If you give a horse oats and do not exercise him enough it will have an intoxicating effect. So if you want to give the impression that a very nice horse is a lunatic you simply feed them lots of oats and keep them confined for a few days and you will have a loony horse on your hands.

I don't know enough about dog food to know if that is true of them but lots of people say that their dog is calmer on a diet with less protein.
