Madasafish - cautionary note!

I am writing this on 'dial up' because although I am paying Madasafish for broadband service and they took a payment by direct debit two days ago for my monthly subscription I do not have any broadband.
On the 15th of March 2008 I signed up with a 12 month contract for broadband with Madasafish. Because of a mistake with my BT line Madasafish stopped my broadband last Monday (16th June 2008) although there wan nothing wrong with my Bt line and they did not advise me in advance. When I rang them they said my broadband would probably be up again on the Tuesday. Tuesday I filed a ticket . Now its thursday and I find they want me to:-
1) pay £40. 95 and wait 7-10 days for my broadband to be reconnected and no they will not deduct any part of the monthly payment or give me a free dial up service.
2) pay them £40.95 fee for cancelling before my 12 month contract has ended and a couple of hundered pounds for the equipment.
Its pure blackmail and I have no choice at all so I paid the £40.95 under duress and am stuck with them until March next year. They have to be the most expensive broadband provider on the net.
I am madder than a fish about this. Tried to get their company deltails from Companies House. Madasafish limited is a dormant company.0 -
I am about to jump ship from Madasafish because of the slow speeds I have had in the last 2 years. They had good customer service but the calls cost me over £6 as I had to ring on a few occasions within 2 days because my broadband wasn't working. The nv called me back after promising either.
I am going to go with O2 as their help calls are free and they do a better deal which madasafish couldn't match.0 -

Especially when you consider the amount of GB limits you get for their cheapest rate. Absolute ripoff. I made the mistake of renewing with them and in three months time when my contract ends I won't be renewing.
I know several people who have now swapped to TalkTalk and none have had an issue. For the price they charge its an absolute bargain, and they have a superb signup pack.
Madasafish have lost the plot.0
