He can't/won't walk with his coat on either....that was a waste of money!
Beryl our other dog will struggle along with half a tree caught up in her fur, nothing stops her !!

Chester's just the same! I knitted him a couple of beautiful coats and he looked great in them but he wouldn't step out the door wearing them. What a waste of time and money that was.0 -
I agree with Bobbybright, the wind gets all the scents whirling round and coming from far away, and as has been said, the sense of smell being the primary one, loads of air scenting going on, it causes excitement, sensory overload I suppose.Debt Free Dec 2009non-smoker 19th Nov 2010Trying to lose weight 40lb/42lb

We used to have a couple of rescue ponies when we lived in the country and yes, the wind excited them.
When my youngest son was at a day school locally the Headmaster used to say to me he dreaded windy days cos the boys would go mad.0 -

Yes, I have heard both of these before - I wonder why it is though - probably not the sort of thing anyone would do research on though!0 -
Well, have to say I like it when its windy, its almost like you have invisibility for some reason
People have their heads down, you have to shout to be heard - perhaps I get a bit excited too

It's not just dogs - most cats I've ever had go nuts in windy weather and any teacher will tell you kids go off the wall in windy weather. I used to think it was nuts when I was on teaching practice and would chirpily comment in the staffroom that the kids seemed a bit lively today to have all the old hands nodding sagely and saying "It's the wiiiiind" like a bunch of sailors or something - but it's true!Little miracle born April 2012, 33 weeks gestation and a little toughie!0

My bf's dog doesnt go mad when its windy but he loves to sit in the garden and face the wind
He just sits there for ages with the wind blowing in his face.
My mum is deputy head of her school and she always dreads windy days and rainy ones too she said the kids are like they've been fed nothing but pure sugar0 -
My cats go bonkers when its windy, and if they go out for a pee in the wind, they dont settle for ages afterwards. Its windy here on the coast nearly all the time, so I am well used to it nowGarantissez-moi de mes amis, je saurai me defendre de mes ennemis0
