How about an old fashioned spice rack? That would stop the fruit falling out, you could find one at a charity shop and modify it/paint it, maybe cut holes out to rest the base of round fruits, add hooks etc etc:jMummy to 2 small 4 year old bundles of mischief!:j0

You can get magnet spice racks these days that clip onto your fridge, so if you incorporate that idea for fruit it could work. You could slice the larger fruits up (apples, oranges, bananas) and put them in the pots, so your children could then lift a pot off and start eating from it? Maybe they could make their own fruit cocktail and stick it on the fridge door?0

There's another thing that could work. I forget the name of it, but you know the screens that have hundreds of wires in them and you press your face/hand etc onto them to leave that impression.
those might be able to hold fruit by just pressing the fruit into them. all depends on the length of the wire.0
