Ideas on how to fix fruit to wall?

Hi all
I have a blank wall in my kitchen and my fruit bowl is forever tipping over and fruit gets bruised at the bottom etc.
I had a brainwave the other day about having small narrow shelves on the wall and placing the fruit individually along it! I think it will be attractive, practical and the kids will really enjoying picking what they want.
My question is if you have any cheap ideas on how to hang the fruit. I either need a narrow glass shelf (can't find any cheap), or using/buying something that will fix to the wall and hold a piece of fruit each. I did think about curtain rings, but not sure how I could fix them to the wall. The clear plastic ones would be ideal to hold apples/pears etc.
Sorry for the random question, but would love to get some advice.

You could always use a wall hung flower basket.0

Might be something in the bath room section. I'm thinking of those suction cup fittings. They seem to make a variety of different accessories, there might be something suitable there.I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.0 -

Only if you want to keep picking the fruit off the floor all the time! We've tried several makes and none of them stay on.0 -
How about somethiong like this

how about a kind of hammock affair? screw a couple of picture hooks into the wall, attach a piece of netting/fabric between them (attach it to the wall at the back so everything doesn't fall down the back)
Then fill with fruit. Not sure if it would work but might be better than a shelf - I would imagine most fruit would roll off that and end up bruised?Wiggly:heartpulsFB0 -
bring a tree into your kitchen and clip the fruit onto the stems. Tell your friends you've managed to cross breed different fruit trees into one.0

Don't know how to fix fruit to a wall but how about jelly:

You need something like a wooden egg holder (if you know what I mean), can find anything right now but it is basically a piece of wood with holes in to hold eggs (would have thought it would support fruit too?)Courage is the art of being the only one who knows you're scared to death.

Silly me! I was under the mistaken impression that possibly items offered for sale might actually do what it says on the tin. Personally, I would not trust a cheap suction device. I was just offering it up as a suggestion.I can afford anything that I want.

In Ikea you can get packs of little crocodile clips with a hook attached. I think they're intended for hanging curtains, but my sister has actually used them for hanging pears by clipping them onto the stem. I guess it would work with fruit that has a stem - grapes, apples etc. You can then hang the clips onto a nail in the wall, or a rail or whatever. Combined with Pretani's tree idea I think this would be great fun for the kids.
I have a beautiful picture that my sister took of her construction, but unfortunately I'm not allowed to post links or images because I'm too new
