Hello,
I currently use avg & zone alarm but was thinking of changing the zone alarm & installing bit defender in place of it, or is there another program out there better than these two.
Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

It's all about personal preference, checking cnet.com, it isn't that bad a product.
AVG and zonealarm are good as a combo. I use agnitum outpost firewall and AVG. I heard Kerio Personal Firewall is also good.
As far as AV software goes, if you're willign to pay, NOD32 is the best.0 -
Is there any particular reason as to why you are looking to change?
I have the setup you are currently using and it seems pretty good to me....

I was curious as i noticed on a chart containing heuristics tests & malware that bitdefender 9 standard came out top.0

Any charts especially charts for AV are very dubious don't always show real-life situations especially heuristic tests.
Steve is correct, AVG and ZA are one of the most popular combos because it is a good combo! Software that does everyone isn't always good.
Anti-Spyware software to use along side these are: Spybot, Ad-Aware and my fave Spyware Doctor.0 -
AVG and ZA have done me proud up until now, I would stick with them unless there is definitely something you don't like about them. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Ok I'm always going to be biased on this one sorry
But this is what I do for a living... There are perfectly good AV sofware out there that is free but I really would urge you to be very careful about risking you computers and data and personal and financial details for the sake of £20-30....
I don't know if I should be recommending the best AV software as it's not free but if people want help with AV software I am happy to help
Unfortunately this is ONE point where I will never try to save by getting free software that itsn't regularly updated and has no dedicated support when things go wrong...
Apart from that - off to find more good offers

Baring in mind the software is only as good as the user.
Forget to have autoupdates on then problems arise, well it sure aint the softwares fault.0 -
Thanx to all who have replied, the advice has helped.
