Maternity Wear

Hi,
I have just reached 12 weeks in my pregnancy and have noticed that my clothes are starting to feel a bit too tight now... I went shopping yesterday to try and get some new gear but to my disappointment only found 2 stores which actually did Maternity wear! And both of those had limited items! So only managed a pair or work trousers and some combats... Not very useful without any tops to wear!!!
I was just wondering where everyone else gets theirs from? I am on a pretty tight budget so do want to spend a fortune, but just want some key items that I can dress up/down!
Any information would be great!
Thanks
Mad

Hi,
I'm 27 weeks pregnant and I have one pair of maternity jeans, one pair of black trousers for work, and a pair of yoga pant things! I would try looking on ebay for maternity wear - you won't really use it for that long, so I think it's a waste spending £25-30 on something you won't get a lot of use from.
As for tops, I've bought a few from ebay, but I've also bought some of the basic stretchy tops from Primark. I think they're about £1.96 - they'll stretch over your bump as you grow, and you'll be able to wear them after too.
I've also bought primark PJs, the seperate bottoms with the vest tops. I bought the bottoms in a size bigger, and they'll be comfy after the baby's born too.
Hope this helps!Sealed Pot Challenge #817 £50 banked0 -
I was in H & M (Trafford Centre, M'cr) yesterday, and I saw alot of maternity wear in the sale. Also,Peacock's do a maternity range, both looked good quality at a reasonable price.
When I was pregnant I bought a pair of maternity jeans from Next, they saw me through four pregnancys, definately got my moneysworth out of them.0 -

What I did is buy a few maternity trousers from peakocks and I think, one maternity/feeding top from mothercare. I bought some other normal tops in a size or two bigger than my normal size. I means that I didnt spend much money on my maternity wardrobe as i can still wear all my tops now.
I liked the trousers with the elastic panels that grow with your bump.
As it gets warmer it will be the perfect weather for tunics which I find work well with growing bumps, and you can wear them after.
Congratulations!!! My son is 12 weeks old and its such a greatfeeling being a mum0 -

you dont really need maternity tops, at least i didnt, just stretchy normal ones in a size or 2 bigger, if you work its well worth spending on a fairly decent pair of black trousers for comfort! try dorothy perkins, i wore mine from 12-16 weeks-ish until i gave up work at 36 weeks and they lasted really well and were really comfy!Mummy to

Where does the time go? :think:0 -
My best investment has been a belly band. It was a fiver from Topshop and it's a strip of black lycra that you wear over your unzipped regular pants to hold them up. From the outside it looks just like a vest top.
It's genius. I'm 22 weeks and still using it.Organised Birthdays and Christmas: Spend So Far: £193.75; Saved from RRP £963.76
