Mine have been in our kitchen for 5yrs now and still like new I also use microfibre cloths and mine have no scratches etc. They are much better than the oak ones I used to have.

Went to Homebase armed with my very bad measuring :o and spent an hour or so with the lady while she swapped units around and I changed my mind several times!

I liked the Monza white gloss range mainly because of the rounded edge units they have and originally we had several in the plan until the price came up and then knocked off £1,000 by doing away with them and I might well do away with the one we left as while they look good they don't appear to hold much although they have none on display.

Offer at present is 1 unit free for every 3, I think, plus 30% off units but if I hold on until next weekend I'll get a further 15% off the whole order and as an incentive for them to pull in orders the 15% off will last until Tuesday 7 April.

Now need to discuss it with my fitter and get my measurements checked and see if we can actually do what I want. Like vansboy I have a vivid pink in the sitting room so asked for a pale pink background for my plan similar to his and really like it and having just done a search for vansboy album I see he has white gloss with black worktop and rather amazingly what looks like black mosaic type tiles as a trim which is the same as I'm thinking about using as I have some left over from the bathroom! So many thanks to vansboy for his pictures and inspiration.

    Glad to help!!
Can you empty some of your PM's, so I can msg you directly, please Edinburghlass - you got it overflowing!!!!

If anyone wants a look, lots more pics in Photbucket

As for cleaning (my job) I use microfibre cloths & a spray on glass cleaner. £8ish for 5ltrs from local cleaning contractors supllies.

No problems with scratching/chipping so far!

I love your loft vansboy, it's great. I didn't want to repost the photo as it's oversized already.

Oops sorry, its that MSE Martin filling up my inbox while I was out, Michael McIntyre filming a new BBC TV show called Comedy Roadshow as he said at the interval, what can be better than 3,000 Scots enjoying a freebie :D

Plan on a trip to Ikea tomorrow as already I can see a £50 saving by using their handles!

Well after a trip to Ikea, now arguing with daughter over white or black high gloss, white is winning so far (cos I'm paying) but mainly because the kitchen needs lightening and I don't want to have to do it with multiple lights!

Ikea is coming in about £500 cheaper with no discounts and apart from the worktop can be bought at any time rather than waiting on a discount weekend so its looking favourite now. I also liked their internal corner cupboard fittings and their drawer accessories although I may have to look for taps elsewhere but thats not a problem.

Have IKea got blck in their range again, then?

When we had it, 4years back, it was just about to be deleted & replacement, wasn't really 'black'!!??

& it WILL show light scratches, even with gentle polishing - as well as finger marks. But did look good, when the lighting was set 'just right'. We had ceiling adjustable inset halogen downlighters, 9 of them, which without being on full, could really set the mood!!

Don't forget to see if Ikea still do 5 - 10% back in vouchers, for using their storecard first time. We spent more than card limit £2000) & customer services instore more than made up the difference!!
